Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil Review & Giveaway

I have been hearing a lot about coconut oil and how great it is recently, but I was skeptical.  I am not a fan of the taste of coconut, but I was given the opportunity to try it out from Tropical Traditions and I said why not.  I definitely try out a lot of things now that I would not have normally.

Coconut oil is a liquid at 76 degrees Farenheit, and below that it will be a solid. It can easily be stored in either form and then liquified with a low level heat.  It will most likely be in liquid form when you receive it because of the heat from being shipped, but they did a great job with packaging so there was no leakage or breakage.

So what did I do with it? Well I used it as a facial and lip moisturizer to start and loved it.  Then I of course had to try it in some cooking and baking.  I used it to saute some chicken and the results were amazing!  While I am not a fan of the taste of coconut, I do like the smell of it.  When I heated the oil, it gave the whole house a nice smell of fresh coconut.  It left the chicken perfectly moist inside with a slightly crunchy outside.  There was no coconut taste to it, which I loved also, but the flavor was so clean tasting.  I then made some beef stir fry with it and had the same great moist results with the beef.  Next I had to do a little baking.  I litterally made a quick batch of brownies from scratch 45 minutes before leaving to visit with some family.  When I told my husband I was going to make them, he thought I was crazy and it would take to long.  So the tasting results from the family were great.  It did leave a slight coconut taste to the brownies, but I thought they were still a tasty little something.  Everybody else absolutely loved the brownies with the slight coconut taste.  Most of them actually had 2 if that tells you something.

Tropical Traditions is generously offering my readers the chance to try it out for yourself!
