What makes every runner happy? A new pair of shoes, of course! I pronate pretty bad (my ankles roll in when I step), so I have to use some shoes with pretty good support in them. I’m not one of those runners with 20 pairs of running shoes, so I had logged a pretty good amount of miles on my shoes. I finally made it to my local running store and got a brand new pair of Brooks Adrenalines!! I love these shoes. They are just the newer version of my old shoes, but they are NEW! I decided to just stick with what is working for me, because I have luckily never had any real pain from running. That definitely has to do with the fact that I am using the right shoes. I ran a 5K a few weeks ago in a pair of running shoes without the support and my feet were killing me afterwards. I won’t be doing that again.
I also just borrowed a different brand of jogging stroller too. I have one, but I didn’t get an all out expensive one since I didn’t think I would be going on that many runs with my daughter. Little did I realize that I would be taking her on almost ALL of my runs. I took out the stroller for a try this morning and what a difference. It was so much smoother and the adjustable height of the handle was much needed since I’m a little on the short side. I was even able to do a little speed work with it, which I desperately need. Now to start putting a fund together to get me a Britax BOB jogger. Oh the free sport of running! The new shoes and new to me jogging stroller:
So now I need to make myself more accountable since I have 2 half marathons I’ve registered for. I added the daily mile tracker to make sure I work out every day. Otherwise, you’re just going to see my slow 3 miles with my new shoes and stroller everyday. Happy running!
