What are these ENERGYbits?

Right before I went on my 2 week escapade, I received a packet with a bunch of information and these little green powerhouses called ENERGYbits to try out.

I had been hearing a lot about products using algae and the benefits for you, but I HATE seafood.  I was really skeptical that I would be able to even get them down, let alone stomach them through a run.  Since I have been trying to be a little more natural with things I put in my body, I decided that I would give them a go.  Or at least try to.

I should have taken them with me on my road trip, because 15 hours in a car sure can make you feel tired when you’re not doing anything.  Fast forward to last Wednesday when I meet some fellow moms at a track to do some running. I decided to only take 20 of them since I wasn’t doing a long run, so I swallowed about 5 at a time with a big swig of water.  I never even tasted them as they went down.

I had planned on doing a little speedwork since I had gotten the new to me stroller and could finally push myself a little more.  Down here in sunny Florida our summers consist of rain, sun, rain, sun, rain, and then nighttime.  The rain had been holding off all day so we thought we had time to get in our workout, but the rain came down as soon as we got to the track.  Typically I would be okay with that since I love to run in the rain, but since I had my daughter that was out.  I ended up going to my parentals and they watched her so I could do a run in the rain.

I only got in 2.5 miles since it was later than normal for an evening run for me, but I did work on doing some speed intervals.  Let me also say I started out with a headache.  All my hormone issues cause me to get them, but I’ve grown used to it and decided to run anyways.  I kept up a better than normal pace and felt like I could easily do 6 miles.  And to top it off, my headache was gone by the end of the run which normally does not happen for me.

So what exactly are these besides algae?  They are 100% Spirulina algae that are a food source and not a supplement.  ENERGYbits are made from 100% organically grown, non gmo Spirulina algae.  Each tablet is only 1 calorie and contains 40 nutrients and are 64% protein!  So to me, these tablets really are a little green powerhouse.   Check out the nutritional data from the ENERGYbits website:

These little tablets are kind of expensive, but eating good can be a little costly.  The awesome people over at ENERGYbits have given my readers a code for a 10% discount on any bag of bits!  When you check out, just enter the word BLOG into the coupon box and the discount will be applied for you.  So check them out on their website here!

This isn’t the last you’ll hear about ENERGYbits from me.  I was supposed to go on a long run Saturday morning, but instead I spent 2 1/2 days sick and unable to do much.  You’ll get to hear about how they powered me through my long run after this weekend, so let me know if you’ve tried them out and what you think of them!

FTC Disclosure:  ENERGYbits provided me with a free sample to try out and review.  I was given no compensation and all opinions expressed are my own.

Enjoy your Adventure,                                                                                                                                                                                                             Samantha
